New development in SAWT

SITA Environmental Solutions (SITA) proposes to build an Advanced Waste Treatment (AWT) facility on approximately 8 hectares (ha) of its existing Elizabeth Drive landfill site in Western Sydney (Elizabeth Drive Site).

SITA's latest development is SITA's Advanced Waste Treatment (SAWT) technology which achieves 60% or greater diversion of waste from landfill.  

 The three principles of SAWT are:

• Recovery of all reusable resources from household waste
• Separation of organic materials
• Composting of almost 100% of the organic fraction into a high grade compost
