SITA wins Frost & Sullivan Award

SITA named 2011 Asia Pacific Waste Management Company of the Year (again)

For the second time in three years, resource recovery and recycling specialist, SITA has been awarded the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Industrial Technologies Award for Waste Management Company of the Year.
The 2011 Waste Management Company of the Year Award is presented to the company that best demonstrates excellence in waste management, waste processing, and leveraging off these technologies within the environmental industry.

Simon Lee, General Manager, Strategy & Sustainable Development, was extremely pleased with the recent announcement by Frost & Sullivan.

“SITA was recognised this year for demonstrating that it stands-out from its competitors through a comprehensive offering of technologies and services targeted specifically towards the re-orientation of waste towards that of a resource.”

“The Award validates SITA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing resource recovery and recycling services in Australia. Our innovative service offering, including that of customer-specific solutions, provides us with the impetus to continue to excel in the delivery of resource recovery service innovation and the advocacy of environmental sustainability,” said Mr Lee.

Cindy Gan, Director, Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices and Events, advised that the Award is not only presented to the company that proves best practice in waste management but “connotes the company's commendable efforts in environmental protection and responsiveness to customer needs.”

SITA’s Managing Director, Mr Eric Gernath, said “SITA again successfully competed against the leading waste management companies in the Asia Pacific region. To win this prestigious award for the second time in its three-year history is a great honour.”

“This award sends a clear message that SITA’s investment in sustainable and innovative resource recovery practices continues to be the benchmark for the industry, not just in Australia, but throughout Asia Pacific.”
The Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Industrial Technologies annual awards recognise best practices in industrial process control, electronics and security, energy and power systems, chemical, materials and food, measurement and instrumentation, and environment and building technology.
