Breakfast Club receives a boost

Frankston Special Developmental School will continue serving healthy and nutritious breakfasts following their success in the 2015 SUEZ Community Grants Program.

The schools ‘Breakfast Club’ provides a nutritious breakfast to students in need to help them start school for the day. The program assists with improved health, wellbeing and learning outcomes. It also gives parents a helping hand and whilst reinforcing the importance of a healthy breakfast.

Alan Casserley, Commercial Manager for SUEZ in Victoria presented a cheque for $3000 to the Breakfast Club on Thursday and said SUEZ was excited to support this local community group.

“The Breakfast Club at the Frankston Special Developmental School benefits a number of local students and their families. It also encourages better diets and choices both at school and at home.”

Kris Baker, Assistant Principal of Frankston Special Developmental School was pleased to hear the news about the grant.

“We are thrilled to receive $3,000 towards our breakfast program. We all know that benefits that come with having a healthy start to the day and we certainly see improved engagement, learning and behaviour from those students who are part of the program.”

“The funding will enable the program to continue and expand to include additional students in need, as nominated by teachers.”

SUEZ launched the company’s community grants program in 2013 and to date has provided more than $250,000 in funding across Australia.
