Municipal Solid Waste

SITA responsibly disposes of municipal solid waste - also known as MSW, general or wet waste - for council, commercial and community customers.

MSW received from residential kerbside collections and from deliveries by householders and businesses is either processed at one of our Advanced Resource Recovery Facilities, treated a Resource Recovery Facility or disposed of at a landfill.

As waste levies rise and commitment to environmental sustainability grows, councils are increasingly looking to improve their waste management practices as part of an integrated waste management solution. SITA aims to assist councils divert waste from landfill, improve green and garden waste recycling rates, maximise resource recovery from waste and minimise environmental impacts.
