Ramping up support for Oakford kids

01/05/2015

More than 100 West Australian children with special needs are set to benefit from a $5,000 SUEZ environnement Community Grant, which has funded new horse riding infrastructure at Riding for the Disabled in Oakford.

The new undercover purpose built tie-up area and ramp, including a hoist to assist severely disabled riders, was officially unveiled at a school holiday event on 14 April.

Riding for the Disabled (RDA) is a voluntary, not for profit organisation that provides opportunities for adults and children with disabilities or special needs to develop their abilities and enrich their lives through an enjoyable form of healthy, outdoor exercise that is exciting, challenging and motivational.

In 2014, the SUEZ environnement Community Grants program provided more than $96,000 to 21 community groups, including $5,000 to RDA Oakford.

Community groups across Australia are encouraged to submit an application in this year's SUEZ environnement Community Grants program.  Information on eligibility and projects we have previously supported can be found on our community grants website - suez-envcommunitygrants.com.au
