Tracking & Reporting

SUEZ uses SWIFT and RAPID technologies in its vehicle fleet to monitor collected weights, identify bins with their corresponding address and confirm GPS time, date and vehicle ID of service. These technologies provide current and relevant information, enabling our customers to closely monitor costs and also identify new opportunities for recycling.

SUEZ is one of the first recycling and waste management companies in Australia to embrace real time reporting. Businesses are constantly seeking progressively sophisticated offerings from their collection partner, requiring more detailed, accurate and timely information.

SUEZ’s collection system enables superior management of the thousands of daily bin pick-ups performed nationally.

The SWIFT system is used to manage multiple contracts and offers a high degree of security and reliability. SUEZ’s systems are built on premium IBM platforms to ensure performance, scalability and database integrity.

Key Features

  • Collection vehicles fitted with an onboard computer and screen unit
  • GPS date and time stamp with truck locations captured and transmitted to a central data base in real time
  • Vehicle load weighting system
  • All bin lifts weighed
  • Ability for RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) tag readers attached to specific vehicles and bins
  • All bin lifts recorded regardless of bin tagging or not
  • All collected information transmitted to a central database
  • Data correlation and storage for reporting
  • Exception reporting in real time
  • National Reporting including recycling and resource recovery rates, waste volume, waste types, frequency of services, greenhouse gas emissions avoided etc.

How does SWIFT work?

All bins serviced are weighed via SWIFT’s scale system. This provides computerised identification of volumes and weights of all waste and resource recovery bins per site, which is transmitted to SUEZ’s computer system. Billing and electronic driver run sheets are also driven from this system.

The SWIFT system carries a list of all customer addresses and the collected information is constantly updated into SUEZ’s database via GPRS in real time. If bins are rejected by the SWIFT system, the information is logged with the following:

  • GPS time and date
  • Collection truck ID number
  • Tag ID number (if applicable)
  • Corresponding address
  • Bin rejection status

Regular reports can be provided to SUEZ customers including details such as collection dates, times, addresses, waste cost, waste streams collected, recycling and resource recovery rates, reduction in greenhouse gases, and natural resource savings from the recycling efforts.

Over 20 relevant and standardised reports can be produced on demand.
