SITA Environmental Solutions, leaders in recycling and waste management, offer Melbourne builders an affordable bin solution to reduce the environmental impacts of residential building activity with the SITA Builders’ Bins program.
Builders bins are lockable, with a unique code to ensure only waste generated on your site goes in your bins. Builders waste is collected and taken to a sorting facility, where recoverable materials are sorted for reprocessing.
Why order a builders bin? With construction and demolition of buildings contributing up to 40% of all solid waste disposed of in Australian landfills - about eight million tonnes every year – SITA’s Builders’ Bins can reduce the waste to landfill though increased recycling of builders left over materials - waste, and product reuse.
Daniel Fyfe, SITA’s General Manager Victoria said “This program appeals to builders, tradespeople and developers as it allows them to increase their profitability and minimise harmful environmental impacts.”
“The reaction to the program from builders, Councils and the community is excellent. SITA already has thousands of builders recycle bins onsite and many others still on order,” said Fyfe.

Initially endorsed by Keep Australia Beautiful Council of Victoria, SITA also received a $200,000 grant from EcoRecycle toward a sorting facility and was a Finalist in the Premier’s 2004 Business Sustainability Awards.
Services for the SITA Builders Bin Program in the South Eastern Suburbs are provided from the Dandenong Depot. This service encompasses the municipalities of Casey, Cardinia, Frankston, Greater Dandenong, Kingston, Manningham, Maroondah, and Yarra Ranges. Services for the Northern and Western Suburbs are provided by the Campbellfield and Geelong Depots.
